Bandung, August 28, 2025 – The Geothermal Master’s Program at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has officially established a Double Degree Program with Kyushu University, Japan.

The collaboration was discussed during a meeting between Assoc. Prof. Jun Nishijima and Assoc. Prof. Keigo Kitamura from the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Kyushu University, and representatives from ITB Heru Berian Pratama, Ph.D., Head of the Geothermal Program, and Dr. Eng. Suryantini, Lecturer in Geothermal Exploration.

The discussion covered various topics, including the double degree program, research collaboration, student exchange, and guest lectures.

Previously, ITB and Kyushu University had already collaborated on student seminars and joint research activities, which laid the foundation for this new academic partnership.

Currently, Chisaki Itera, a student from Kyushu University, is participating in the Double Degree Program at the ITB Geothermal Master’s Program, marking the beginning of this promising collaboration between the two institutions.
