ITB Geothermal Organized Geothermal Reservoir and Reinjection Workshop in Collaboration with PGE Ulubelu

The ITB Geothermal Master’s Program successfully organized the “Reservoir and Reinjection Geothermal Workshop” in collaboration with PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Ulubelu and PT Gada Energi. The workshop was conducted in two batches, with Batch 1 held on November 24–26, 2025, and Batch 2 held on December 18–20, 2025.

The workshop was led by Heru Berian Pratama, Ph.D. and Ir. Nenny Miryani Saptadji, Ph.D., who served as the main trainers. They were supported by Dinda Permatasari RB, M.T., and Taufiq Rachman, S.T., as workshop assistants.

This capacity-building program was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of geothermal reservoir behavior and reinjection practices as key components of sustainable geothermal field development. The workshop combined theoretical lectures with practical exercises, enabling participants to gain both conceptual knowledge and applied skills.

The syllabus covered a wide range of essential topics, including basic concepts of reservoir engineering, geothermal production systems through production testing and well stimulation, reservoir changes under exploitation, and the fundamentals of reinjection. Participants also explored reinjection strategies such as cold and brine reinjection, as well as reinjection operations, monitoring, and evaluation. A dedicated well stimulation exercise provided hands-on learning experience.

Through this collaborative workshop, the ITB Geothermal Master’s Program reaffirmed its commitment to supporting industry-oriented education and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry partners in advancing Indonesia’s geothermal sector.
