Heru Berian Pratama Earns Doctoral Degree from Kyoto University, Strengthening Global Geothermal Energy Research

Kyoto, Japan – March 2025. Heru Berian Pratama has successfully completed his Doctoral Program at Kyoto University (April 2022 – March 2025), marking an important milestone in his academic and professional journey in the field of geothermal energy development.

During his PhD studies, Heru achieved significant accomplishments, including:

  • Publishing six articles in high-impact international journals, four of them as first author,

  • Presenting research findings at two international and five national conferences,

  • Building research collaborations with leading institutions and scholars in Indonesia and Japan.

His doctoral research focused on geothermal system modeling, power generation optimization, and reservoir simulation, contributing to advancements in sustainable energy science and technology.

Heru expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the JICA KIZUNA Program for scholarship and research support, Prof. Katsuaki Koike for exceptional supervision and mentorship at Kyoto University, and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) for continuous academic and institutional support.

His scholarly contributions include publications in renowned journals such:
