Leading academics from ITB recently contributed their insights on Indonesia’s energy security strategy during a high-level dialogue with national lawmakers.

At the meeting of Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik Indonesia (MPR), ITB experts including Dr. Eng. Suryantini and Dr. rer.nat M. Rachmat from the Geothermal Master’s Program provided recommendations to support the country’s energy resilience targets put forth by the government.

Their input emphasized that Indonesia’s path toward energy security must leverage the country’s geothermal potential a renewable, abundant, and sustainable resource as part of a diversified energy portfolio. This aligns with national ambitions for clean energy transition and long-term energy independence.

The participation of ITB’s geothermal experts reflects the program’s commitment to bridging academic research and national policy needs, supporting a more sustainable and secure energy future for Indonesia.
