Geothermal Forum: The definition, common problems of scales in geothermal binary power plants (wells & heat-exchangers) and solution by HYDRODIS patented technology – Turkiye case study

The Geothermal Master’s Program, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), successfully held another session of the Geothermal Forum 2024 on Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 13.30 to 15.30 (Jakarta Time). The forum was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join both offline at ITB and online via Zoom.

This week’s forum featured Ayhan Erten as the speaker, presenting the topic “The Definition and Common Problems of Scales in Geothermal Binary Power Plants (Wells & Heat-Exchangers) and Solution by HYDRODIS Patented Technology – Türkiye Case Study.” The session was moderated by Naomi Nadya A. Siregar.

The discussion focused on the challenges of scaling in geothermal binary power plants, particularly in wells and heat exchangers, which can significantly affect plant efficiency and operational performance. The presentation also highlighted the innovative HYDRODIS patented technology that has been successfully applied in Türkiye as an effective solution to scaling problems.

The Geothermal Forum Series is a regular event organized by the Geothermal Engineering Master Program at ITB. It serves as a platform for knowledge sharing and professional exchange among geothermal experts, researchers, practitioners, and students, fostering discussions on advancements in geothermal exploration, technology, and sustainable energy practices.
