The Geothermal Master’s Program of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) proudly continues its Geothermal Forum Webinar Series 2022 with an engaging discussion on the relationship between tectonic settings and geothermal systems.

Understanding tectonic frameworks plays a crucial role in defining geothermal systems. It helps in developing conceptual models of geothermal fields and enhances the success rate of exploration and development activities.

This session featured a presentation by Lukman Sutrisno, who shared insights on the topic “Influence of Large-Scale Tectonics on Field-Scale Geothermal System: from Sunda, Banda, to Sangihe Arc.” The session was moderated by Betseba Sibarani and held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 13:30 to 15:30 (Western Indonesia Time).

Participants from academia, industry, and government institutions joined the discussion to gain a deeper understanding of how regional tectonics influence geothermal potential across Indonesia’s volcanic arcs.
