The Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FTTM), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) — particularly the Geothermal Master’s Program — held a special ceremony to honor Ir. Nenny Miryani Saptadji, Ph.D., marking her retirement after 38 years of dedicated service at ITB.

The event, titled “38 Years of Dedication: The Retirement Ceremony of Ir. Nenny Miryani Saptadji, Ph.D.”, was conducted online and broadcast live on the Geothermal ITB YouTube Channel. It served as a moment of appreciation for a figure who has devoted her life to advancing petroleum engineering and geothermal energy education in Indonesia.

Ir. Nenny Miryani Saptadji is widely recognized as one of Indonesia’s leading experts in geothermal energy. She joined ITB’s Petroleum Engineering Program in 1982 and began focusing on geothermal energy in 1987.

Her greatest contributions lie in academic and institutional development:

• Program Development: As the former Manager of the Applied Academic Master’s Program in Geothermal Engineering ITB, she played a key role in shaping the curriculum and nurturing new generations of geothermal engineers.

• Publications: She authored several essential textbooks, including Geothermal Production Engineering, Reservoir Management, and Geothermal Engineering.

• Expertise: Her primary expertise in Geothermal Reservoir and Production Engineering has formed the basis for numerous studies and research on production decline in steam-dominated geothermal fields across Indonesia.

Throughout 38 years of service, Ir. Nenny Miryani Saptadji, Ph.D. has left a profound legacy in education and research, inspiring many alumni who now contribute to the national and global energy sectors.

This retirement ceremony not only marks the conclusion of her formal academic journey but also celebrates her lifelong dedication and invaluable contributions to ITB and Indonesia’s geothermal community.
