Geothermal Master Program of ITB Participate in Indonesian Geothermal Association (INAGA) Annual Meeting 2012
To implement the commitment of Geothermal Master Program of ITB in supporting geothermal development in Indonesia, about 10 staffs and 50 students participate in The 12th Indonesian Geothermal Association Annual Meeting, held in Bandung, 6-8 November 2012.
Prior to the meeting, on 5 November 2012, the free Seminar with the topic “Introduction to Geothermal” were conducted by Geothermal Master Program of ITB. This seminar is part of US-Indonesia Collaboration in Geothermal Education Capacity Building Program which is supported by USAID, Star Energy, in collaboration with University of Couthern California (USC) and ITB. This seminar give an overview about Geothermal system and its exploration and exploitation technology, Geothermal power plant turnaround and management, and the Scholarship for geothermal study at ITB, with the speaker Dr. Suryantini (ITB), Ir. Thomas Agus Bayu (Chevron) and Nenny Saptadji PhD (ITB) respectively. The keynote speaker delivering the need of geothermal expert in Indonesia is Mr. Sanusi Satar from Star Energy. This one day seminar is attended by more than 100 participant from various university, government institution and industry.
On the 6th and 7th the INAGA annual meeting is attended by about 375 participants with about 75 oral presentation in three parallel technical sessions. “This is the biggest annual meeting we ever have” said Mr. Abadi Purnomo, Chairman of INAGA, former PERTAMINA Geothermal Energy Director. Big applause goes to Mr. Sanusi Satar as the Chairman for the 12 INAGA annual meeting and his staffs. In this meeting the Geothermal Master Program of ITB students and staffs contribute about 30 technical papers which are the results of their project and research.
